Partitioning macbook to work with Windows?
My mother gave me her MacBook and had to work on Windows Vista up at first, but was completely in Chinese so I returned to the factory settings with Mac OS X installation disk. I am fairly new and had no clue what he was doing, and I want to run Windows again. When I opened the Bootcamp assistant, said the startup disk can not be partitioned or restored to a single partition. What does this mean? And on my desk I have the bootcamp icon and an icon for Mac OS X. What is supposed to be for Windows and is supposed to be for Mac OS X? HELP!
The disc is MacOSX Mac, Windows or bootcamp icon is the Windows partition. More to the point, it would be easier to completely reinstall Mac OSX. Just save your data, insert the installation CD and press C to boot. Once the computer has booted from the CD, go to Utility Services (top bar) and click on "Disk". Reformat Disk drive as a partition and click Delete. After that, quit Disk Utility and install the Mac OSX. Or, if you wish, you can reinstall Windows on the partition Home of the CAP.
