Cpu Temp Macbook

Brand new MacBook gets hot Part 2--?
Thanks for all the great answers. I hardly ever have it on my lap. I did install the temp widget and my CPU A is about 56 Degrees, the Heatsink A and B about 51 and 52 everything else below 50. I am actually charging the battery right now and somebody mentioned that is when the macbook gets very hot. Do I actually have to use the battery every once in a while or can I leave it plugged in the charger for a long time? Have had this argument with my husband for ever...
Hey dude, im glad u followed my advice and reposted your temps. Yes, your temps are quite normal for a macbook (not for most laptops). Notice how the top left corner near the magsafe is hotter than usual, I would say that the power supply itself is culprit and not the battery and this is the general case with macbooks. You can leave the battery plugged in for along time, Its could do go through one cycle (charge discharge every 30 days) to keep your battery health up. Its really not an issue to constantly charge the battery, and here's the explanation you can give your husband. Notice how when you charge your battery and it hit 100%, it sometimes drops to 99%, this is because the charger circuitry stops charging the battery at 100% and waits til' it falls to 95% until it starts charging again, kind of like a slow pulse. This keeps a minimum amount of stress on your battery.
PS: the guy above me couldn't be more wrong, its charging at a pulse, and for only that 5 percent buffer space. I wouldn't recommend asking notebook questions here, go to a site like notebookreview.com 's forums and ask real experts.
