Is there anyway to recover a file from a MAC guest account?

I diddn't notice but I was writing my paper on a guest account (I'm using a MacBook).. apparently someone logged off the guest account afterwards. Is there anyway I can recover the file.. I saved it and everything but apparently the files get purged when you log off?

I think you're SOL. Before you log out, it says the files cannot be recovered.

You can try googling "mac unerase" or "mac undelete" and try any one of the apps that come up. Those apps are designed to recover files that were deleted from the trash, but it might work for what you need. Just try a couple. If you're not careful, you'll spend more time (and money) trying to recover the file rather than just re-writing it.
