How to dispose my laptop charger?

My charger is a 60W MagSafe Power Adapter (Used to charge a macbook) and it isn't working, so I want to know if I can just dump in my trash bin or if there is a correct way of disposing of it?

There's nothing "wrong" with disposing of it in your trash. There's no batteries or anything. But all electronics have at least a tiny bit of mercury and other chemicals, so most areas offer means of safely disposing of such things. They may charge you tho :/
