i am also concerned about matte or glossy, led backlighting in the 17", and also is the 17 to big? the 2 inches dosent seem like a problem for me but idk if 15" is just enough

That 17" is $200 cheaper straight from Apple. Check the refurb section at the bottom left of the Apple store page.

Personally, I find 15" to be the best size, but I've also got a couple Mac desktops to tide me over when I just need to work. The refurb 15 inchers are currently starting at $1300. What a deal!
