If i bring my macbook into the apple store, will they clean it for me? like restore it?

my macbook has gotten really dirty and while i have been cleaning it using those computer cleaning kits, i still feel like its dirty. I want to get a keyboard cover and a hard cover but i would first like to get my computer really clean. If i bring it in and make an appt at the genius bar, could they clean it for me?

Is your Mac under warranty still? If so, then they will certainly do it especially if you can infer that a dirty keyboard is causing typing problems.

Apple cleaned my Macbook for me, for free, several times, although it was usually on occasions when there wasn't really a line at the store. They do it faster than you would yourself because they're experienced at it. Especially if you're buying the covers from them, they will probably be happy to clean it for you to facilitate the sale.

However, especially noting from the other answerers, you should probably call your local Apple store before you get there and ask them whether they will do this for you. This is also one of those things that you will have an easier experience if you have a smile on your face, a jovial attitude, and treat them nicely, since they don't really "have" to do it for you. Each Apple store is a little different and I've noticed that what services are covered vary pretty widely from place to place and also seasonally.
