Is it time for a new laptop?

I have a year and 2 months Dell Studio 1536. My backlight is dead, which means a screen New LCD ($ 330 - $ 500), it does read DVD overheating now 5-7 times a day, the lid comes from the base, Digital fingerprint reader stopped working and freezes constantly. I recently cashed in my savings bonds and thinking of buying a 15-inch MacBook or MacBook Pro Should I sell and buy a new one or try to get all these things fixed. This laptop is one year and 3 months so the warranty is in place, but not old at all.

The laptop is not yet two years? It is really bad, most notebooks last at least 4 years. Mine all did. Dell has been known to be problem and will not last however long time. So yes I regret to say that you should probably get one again. 1200 Buck mac now cost seems a bit too much for me when you can get a good HP, Sony, ASUS or toshibia for less.
