Macbook Key HELP!!!!?

i got my laptop like 5 months ago. today i was playing around and a key fell off... i cant get it back on and if my dad finds out ill be DEAD. its a apple macbook. i was thinking of waiting till sunday (when i go to my moms house). and going to the apple store. (they know how to do that kinda stuff). but i would need to tell my mom why im going there. what do i do????????? HELP
can i take the cover off? would that make it easier?

I don't know how to fix that, but I have some ideas to get you through to fix it.

Idea 1: (Make Something Up): OK, wait until Sunday, and just tell your mom that you wanted to look around the Apple Store or you wanted to "get your system updated" and that you needed to go to the Apple Store to do that (or just make up a good lie). Once you get to the Apple Store, (with your laptop) give the "Apple Genius" person your laptop, and ask him/her to fix it while you and your mom look around. Then viola! Your laptop is fixed!

Idea 2:(Tell The Truth): OK, wait until Sunday, and just tell your mom the truth, and tell her it was an accident, and not to tell your dad (I'm sure she'll understand). Then go to the Apple Store, (with your laptop) and give the "Apple Genius" person your laptop, and ask him/her to fix it. Then viola! Your laptop is fixed!
