Can downloads be viewed on other users on a mac?

If i download a video, or some file, on my user account on my macbook, does it show up on another user's downloads folder? There's an admin user account for my school, and does my downloads show up in their folder? And do both copies delete if i delete my copy? Halp? (btw, it says i cant access their folder, cuz i dont hav permission)

The files in your home folder, other than your Public and Sites folders, are not seen from any other user login that is in the Users folder. By that, I mean users that are in hidden locations may have access to all files on the computer but most people don't know how to login as one of those users.

Downloads are not automatically duplicated anywhere so if you download a file, there it is and no place else.

Having said that I must mention that there is always a way to see all files on any computer. You can make it extremely difficult by making a sparseimage in Disk Utility that can be encrypted with a password. Without the password, no one can mount the disk image and see the files. They can delete it but they can't mount the image and see the files.
