Wow I really like this netbook. I had no problem following the instructions in the installation manual and battery charger for the first time. The rest of the process is simple, because the operating system brought me the steps. I am absolutely convinced that this is the way to go if you need computing power on the move but not all the features of notebook computers. Its great for reading e-mail, word processor alone, and, of course, talk to your grandkids webcam. Screen size is very clear and I am thinking of buying an external DVD drive for him, and I or my grandchildren to watch movies anywhere! I particularly liked the play of plug "n" USB ports, and how the operating system detects new devices that connect without having to reboot. In six hours of battery life is more than meets my needs. A framework, continues to reduce the price of the Amazon that confronts it even more incredible. Seriously, if you have more money, is a very netbook purchase.

When you need a little PC, but not many PC

I had the opportunity to try before laptops and are unhappy with the small screen a keypad, and "cheap" toy feel. But when the opportunity to review the ECAFE, I jumped on it. I'm a Mac user, but sometimes you need a PC to operate. It is that it is really useful.

The main reason you need a PC so that I can do a job that requires a PC remotely. I am pleased report that this netbook runs very well for this. Recently a friend needed to use your printer at home and makes us more easily work with this team. I took the PC to a couple of trade shows and was everything we needed. It is smaller and slightly lighter than the 13-inch MacBook and I was able to slip in a little messenger bag. I have not tried using it for weight burden of emails ... just surf the web. But as news, does not meet the specifications for games online such as World of Warcraft.

I had a little trouble for the battery properly, but after a few tries, who is now working correctly. I think the blue bamboo design is nice and the keyboard is better than the other netbooks I've tried. The netbook is approximately 10.75 inches wide by 7.5 and the screen 8.75 is about 5 inches which is 10 "diagonally. I have not tried yet, but is also a netbook for use as a computer for a presentation on when to bring your own projector and laptop.

I give this 5 stars because I think a good netbook. I'm not giving 5 stars as a complete computer. So when you need a little PC, but not a lot of PC, ECAFE may be the machine for you.

My first Netbook!

This is my first netbook, and so far I love it! I have nothing to compare with, but I have seen netbooks and other online stores and ECAFE seems comparable to other brands on the market today in terms of processor speed, RAM, screen size, etc. A notable feature of ECAFE stand-out is the 250 GB hard drive, which seems very generous by today's standards. Here is my detailed analysis of the ECAFE by Hercules

Adding a power cord for use in Europe a good detail for travelers. The 46-page printed User Manual is a welcome change a pdf. In unity, however, I found the average was about how to use the various components of OpenOffice, instead of important things like updating your RAM. One important thing it tells you is how to restore the factory ECAFE state, if you need to do in the future.

These specifications are on par with current competing models, perhaps with the exception of the most large hard disk. The large N wi-fi to connect to speeds fast when available. The long life 6 cell battery, fully charged, has generated nearly 7 hours of charge time for me, although, as with laptops normal, this varies depending on usage.

The accounts of the 6-cell battery at least half the weight of the netbook. The keyboard is very good and I like the style chiclet buttons. They have a good feeling for them, while only 88% the size of a standard keyboard, I found the adjustment was not so difficult. At only 0.3 megapixel webcam is integrated something you might think is junk, but does a surprisingly good calls for face to face with Skype. The multi-card reader to read the current storage card popular, which is a great companion to ECAFE a digital camera during the holidays. On the right side of ECAFE is a USB port for a mouse, leaving the other two ports USB on the left side free for USB drives, external DVD drives and other USB devices. Easy on the eye.

Windows 7 Starter (for example, windows 7 gimped version) offers a basic functionality of Windows 7 with an option for an upgrade fee. Works better than you think, but lacks the bells and whistles like Aero, and even the basic ability to change your background desktop (although the use Third party programs, it is possible). The mark ECAFE software makes daily tasks quickly and easily. Email Center is probably the mail program Easy to set-up that I have used. Simply enter your email address and connects to your ISP to retrieve settings SMTP and POP automatically. Once done, the Mail Center is run every time you start ECAFE and automatically checks for new e-mail. You can adjust this setting if you want, but personally I like the automatic features. The Connect program allows to find and connect to Wi-Fi Quick and painless. Web Cam is the season when your webcam is configured for use with MS Messenger, Skype or similar software conference. I OpenOffice as a free alternative to Microsoft Office for a number of years, and I plan to install the ECAFE. It was a pleasant surprise that was pre-installed. OO includes a word processor, spreadsheet, slides, etc. and is compatible / interchangeable MS Office. ECAFE OO version is included with the v3.1, the current version (at the time of this review) is v3.2, be sure to update. I have installed avast! A free anti-virus, rather than mine Trend Micro Internet Security 2010.

Other impressions:
* The power button is on the left column ECAFE cord. Lights when the white. : D
* There is no lid latch, hinge stiffness only that, but again, it takes two hands and a soft little curious to open it.
* I ran the Windows Experience Index and has received an overall score was: 2.0
* The ECAFE immediately found my router at home and had access wireless and password login prompt.
* The top of the ECAFE is a beautiful dark blue with a bamboo silhouette design on one side and the logo in the center ECLAC. Keyboard is white, the inner surface is gray and silver, while the sides and bottom are black. In general, it is a distinctive-looking netbook, nice.

CONCLUSION:
Guillemot French manufacturer is best known for PC and game console peripherals under the Hercules and Thrustmaster brand. A reading of ECAFE site, I think it is actually the second generation of netbook of Hercules (earlier versions running Windows XP or Linux). Although I have no other netbook which to compare, I like the CE-1000W ECAFE for his size, speed, ease of use, functionality and aesthetics. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the market for a netbook ECAFE review.
