What can I do if my Macbook Pro is acting much slower then before?

I used to be able to run several programs at once with no problem. Now its sluggish and sometimes I have to force quit applications.

Recently I had to use the power button several times because it wouldn't even power up past the Apple Logo. I put it the in the Leopard cd and restarted it from there and its been slow ever since.

I just switched over from PC because I was told with a Mac I wouldn't have to worry about these issues.

Admittedly Ive been downloading songs off Limewire...is that the issue? Again, I thought Mac's didn't catch viruses.

What can be done to rectify the situation?

OS X will crash, just like Windows, when you do things like that.

Do an "Archive & Install" as described below:
