Why does Safari frequently freeze on my MacBook Pro?

I have had my computer for about 6 months and I have had a great experience thus far. For whatever reason my Safari application has been freezing more frequently lately and I am stuck with the spinning, colorful ball. Interestingly, ESPN.com, a site that I have always frequented, has started to freeze every time I log on during the last few days. Any suggestions or should I hope the problem resolves itself.

id do this first ...

make sure you have latest flash plugin installed.. free at adobe.com

also make sure you to install flip4mac plugin free at flip4mac.com

i say tose updates/plugins because most sites really on them heavily , flash im sure you know what it is and flip4mac is a wmv codec for quicktime...if not installed/up to date. pages will act up during loading..

then open software update in your system preferences and make sure you have the current safari updates. if youre at safari 2(click on safari app push apple+i to see version) go to apple.com and download safari 3 its beta but runs great!

safari is by far the fastest browser out there..enjoy
