I live on a college campus apt. We have wifi here for an Internet connection. It is low in the rooms. Trouble?

It is an apt 1200 m² with four bedrooms. In the center of our apt in the living room of his fast! 48 MB / s. I have a MacBook and a Dell Studio 19 laptop One Where I live in the room im gold, then in my room is slow as hell! In my Dell, Windows displays the speed of 5.5 Mb / s or 1.0 mb / s most of the time. I'm rid of my MacBook soon. Any ideas for a faster connection in the room? Or am I SOL? Thank you! I also connect to the network through a Bluesocket login and password. I have no physical access to a router.
