How do you find the port number on a Macbook?

It all depends on which port you are seeking to verify.

Here is a simple process to find out port numbers on your Mac

**First you need to know your IP address.

If you do not know where to find your IP Address,

* Click anywhere on a blank space of your desktop, and Finder should appear up near the Apple menu icon located in the upper left corner of your screen.

* From the Finder menu bar select "Go" then select "Utilities" from the drop down menu. You will now be taken to the Utilities folder.

* Locate and launch the Network Utility application
* The Network Utility window will default at the "Info" tab.
Now note your IP Address.

* From here, click on the link below, in order to see how the Network Utility window looks and which sections you need to focus on, in order retrieve the port addresses on your Macbook.

Next,
* Click on the tab entitled "Port Scan"
* For a general list of port numbers (addresses) in your Mac,
just input your IP Address in the IP Address box.

* If you have a range of ports you wish to identify on your Macbook, you can also select the second set of boxes which will allow you to specify the range of ports you wish to identify on your portable notebook.

This is the easiest way you can identify port numbers on your Macbook.
