Is there a point of buying a SNES, Genesis, N64 or ...?

when I can emulate the games on my macbook, connect my mac to my HD TV via VGA cable, and play with the PS3 controller?

I think I answered the question yourself. There is no point in buying older systems, if you are so easily accepted by emulators. The only reason I could buy legacy systems are for the show. They're classic, after all.
