HOME MACBOOK HELP!?

I have read many forums but do not work need help on an individual basis! I wanted to use my MacBook Pro Tools and I had to downgrade to 10.5, so trapped in the installation disc and nothing happened, but a regualr home, I connected and click on the disk, then click restart from the disc, restart and the screen went gray and stayed! So I tried several times to boot from the disc, to restore the car, Safe Mode boot and then my last time you reset the folder with a flashing question mark, what should I do? I really do not want to call Apple. I have all the records of 10.5 and 10.6 installation PLEASE HELP

Now try to restart the key or touchpad mouse while holding down during boot restarts. If you do not get to hold that giving the "C" and must start from that, if not, then hold down the "option" key will open the boot loader to be the boot disk and hard disk as well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Option_key
