My MacBook used to read DVDs?

Recently, my macbook does not seem to read the discs are a bit old and is not scratched or new brand. Are there things you should look or should I go to the Apple store?

You can try to run hardware diagnostics on the disks and see if this is up problems (if they can get of things discs), or if you need to call AppleCare and see if they can determine if the diskette is bad phone. If not, does it take to an Apple store and can diagnose what is the problem in the store.
