Can't connect Macbook to Netgear WGR614 wireless router.?

I use a PC with a Netgear WGR614 wireless router using a WEP encryption key with no problem, but I cannot get a Macbook to connect to the router. I have checked the encryption key and gone through the Mac's network diagnostics with no success. Is the Mac not compatible with this router?

If your WEP password uses ASCII, put double quotation marks before and after the password when your enter it on your MacBook, e.g.: "password".

If the password is HEX, put a dollar sign at the front, e.g.: $password.

WEP can broken easily, though, so if you're truly concerned about security, you should upgrade to a router that supports WPA with TKIP/RC4 encryption or, better still, WPA2 with CCMP/AES. (Your MacBook supports both -- don't know about your PC.)
